Ingredients:
- ½ liter of milk (or plant drink)
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp flea seed husk
- 3 eggs, divided into whites and yolks
- 2 tbsp cane sugar or coconut sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking soda
- Peel of 1 lemon
- 125 g rice flour
- 75 g corn flour
- 75 g cornstarch
- 50 g melted butter (or coconut oil)
Procedure:
- Add apple cider vinegar and flea seed shells to the milk and let it steep for about 10 minutes.
- Whisk the egg whites until stiff and set them aside.
- Whisk the milk with the egg yolks and the other ingredients.
- Gently fold the stiff egg whites into the dough.
- Bake the apple slices at a steady heat on an electric apple slice pan and turn them with a knitting needle.
- Serve with icing sugar and jam. You can fill the apple slices with a piece of apple or prune puree for extra flavor.
